     Joel Kastel was first introduced to CrossFit in 2009 at a time in his life when a turning point was necessary to correct the wrongs and to restart the cycle of living a life once again, as it was in his youth.  This journey has led Joel down a transformative path of fitness, nutrition and health.  In the process, Joel has taken an affinity to coaching and with it the desire to help others achieve their own personal goals.
     In 2013 he opened CrossFit PDX in order to reach a larger population and spread the benefits of CrossFit methodology as it relates to personal growth and development.
     Joel deeply believes that physical movement can be used as a vehicle for change and transformation.  His goal is to help others achieve better health through emphasizing proper nutrition and movement as a way to reduce stress and improve quality of life.

Andra has been interested in sports and fitness from a young age, she started playing soccer at age 8 and going to the gym at 16. Looking for more than a big box gym could offer, Andra started as a member at CrossFit PDX in 2014.  She loved it immediately and came on as a partner in 2016.  Andra enjoys coaching classes, but her focus is on the business side of CrossFit PDX.  Andra is a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer.

Ryan Haas is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and has been a member at CrossFit PDX since 2013. He discovered CrossFit after he turned 30 and realized he wasn’t as fit as he used to be during his high school wrestling career. Since then, Ryan has continued to learn about the effectiveness of functional training, and become an advocate for the long-term health benefits of the CrossFit methodology. He believes training is scalable for everyone and CrossFit can be a tool for anyone to improve both mind and body.
